| Children's Art Takes Over Emery Building
The BC Child Development Lab kicks off the "Week of the Young Child" by presenting an art gallery in the Emery Building.
Dozens of students prepared artwork
The Exhibit began on April 20, and runs through April 30 from 6:30-8:00pm. More than 71 children are presenting their artwork in this second annual event. There will be a variety of pieces at the show ranging from paints on canvas, clay sculptures, paperweight art, a wall of flowers, water colors, story writing and illustrating, and a group mural.
The week of the young child is celebrated nationally in conjunction with the National Association for the Education of a Young Child (NAEYC). During this week, childcare providers are encouraged to set aside this week to give more attention to young children. Barbara Miles, assistant director of the Child Development Lab comments, "People need to know we have children doing some really neat things."
