The Lady Mountaineers demonstrated on home court why they are ranked number one in Division II for total rebounds, assists, scoring offense, and three point percentages per game.
The Berea women's basketball team returned home to dominate West Virginia Institute of Technology in a blowout victory of 94-36 on January 6. They defeated West Virginia previously in their last away game on December 12 with a 76-52 win.
“We executed the ball very well as a team," said senior forward Candy Walls. "I couldn’t have lead without my guards and the players coming in and off the bench contributing.”
As a team the Mountaineers grabbed 53 rebounds, made 25 assists and 20 steals. Out of the 37 points Candy Walls scored, ten were three pointers. She also led the team in rebounds and steals. Kristin Madden was the second-leading scorer with 12 points. She made 5 out of 7 three pointers.
