The Chimes are restored... thanks to the class of ?? 3/13/2009 Author(s): Jay

Recently, the Chimes, a set of 10 bells in the Phelps Stokes Chapel, were restored.
This restoration involved replacing the chimestand and clappers.
Sometime in the 1950s the original chimestand was replaced with an electric keyboard that allowed no change in volume because the bells were struck with the same force each time. Thus, a player's musical expression was limited.
Watch the video to find out which class made the restoration possible.
