NAIA Hall of Fame Coach Roland Wierwille, who coached the Mountaineers from 1972–2002, passed away on July 18 in Berea.

Wierwille won 460 games and took his teams to the national tournament five times, including three consecutive appearances from 1998-2000. He was named Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) Coach of the Year five times.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, at the old Seabury gymnasium on the Berea College campus.
