Power Recognized for Community Service

Barbara Power, head of circulation at Hutchins’ Library, received the Elizabeth Perry Miles Award for Community Service during the college's 149th Commencement. A 1956 graduate of Berea and a faculty member since 1981, Power was recognized for her work mentoring students and graduates, the annual “Food for Fines” drive she organizes at the library, and her work with the New Opportunity School for Women, and the First Christian Church.

In addition, Power has also regularly donated her RH Negative blood, relieving mothers and their babies from the problem of RH incompatibility.
