| PR Wins Five CASE Awards
Berea College Public Relations staff and students were honored with four CASE (Council for the Advancement and Support of Education) Kentucky awards ranging from merit to grand, and one Excellence Award from CASE District III.
Buckner accepts the CASE Kentucky Grand Award for a video project on Dr. John Fenn.
Jay Buckner, public relations manager, won a Case Kentucky grand award (the highest award) for his production of a video project detailing Dr. John Fenn's return to BC after winning the 2002 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Buckner also accepted an excellence award in the electronic publications category for BCnow, Berea's online news portal. Finally, Buckner accepted an excellence award from Case District III for the BCnow entry. CASE III is comprised of 540 institutions and and 4,200 professional members in the Southeastern U.S.
Ann Mary Quarandillo, publications manager and editor, received a CASE Kentucky excellence award for "They Closed Our Schools," an article she authored for the Spring 2004 issue of the Berea Magazine. Quarandillo also received a CASE Kentucky merit award for the Berea Magazine.
CASE Kentucky is a statewide organization that serves advancement professionals at all levels who work in alumni relations, communications, and development at more than 70 colleges, universities, private secondary and elementary schools, as well as other educational organizations.
