Hats Off to Hudson as Blythe Takes Reins

This spring, BC will say farewell to Dr. Donald Hudson as Dr. Janice Blythe takes over as the new Associate Provost for Advising and Academic Success.

Dr. Hudson and Dr. Blythe pose at a surprise dinner held in Dr. Hudson's honor.

The selection for this position was a very thorough process. Many standards needed to be met in order to choose a candidate that would effectively generate success among students. Dr. Janice Blythe was the top candidate to fulfill these criteria. Blythe's academic leadership was noted as a top quality; useful in sustaining many ideas already in progress. Her selection also illustrates the confidence that she will produce fresh initiatives and continue to encourage and improve academic success among students.

Dr. Don Hudson, the first person to occupy the senior position in academic administration as associate provost for advising and academic success, was graciously thanked for his many contributions. His immense and enduring improvements in the academic programs and policies have been well noted, and his "complete dedication to students, keen insight, and enduring wisdom" will be missed. Hudson will return to his faculty duties in the Department of Industrial Arts and Technology.
