| Men Lose First Game in KIAC Tourney
Poor shooting resulted in a 76-60 loss for the Mountaineers.
Making only twenty one percent of their three-pointers, and only thirty eight percent from the free throw line, Berea allowed four opponents to score in double figures in route to a sixteen point loss.
Berea fell behind early, ending the first half down by 16, which would prove to be the difference as the teams matched scores in the second half. Chris McIntyre and Chris Wilson lead the Mountaineers in scoring with 15 and 11, respectively. Melvin Brown led all players with 7 assists, and Cody Nickels led the team with 6 rebounds.
The match-up seemed favorable as Berea was playing Spalding for the third time this season. Berea lost the two regular season contests by single digit scoring margins in each game.
Despite topping the KIAC preseason poll, Berea endured an eleven-game mid season losing streak and entered the KIAC tournament with an 8-17 record.
