The Washington Post is recognizing BC's efforts to be more ecologically sustainable. In an effort to better preserve our environment, BC has strategically striven to reduce its ecological footprint by reusing salvageable products, seeking ecologically friendly products, and designing spaces to be more efficient and sustainable.

Noted in the article is the development of the Ecovillage and its ecological practices. With a goal to reduce energy consumption 45 percent by 2015, BC is constructing a new and more efficient gas-fired heat plant, which the article noted as the college's most substantial effort to reduce energy consumption.
