With a rocky start to the season, The Berea College Women's Soccer Team wrapped up the season as runners up in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament.

On October 28 the Lady Mounties started tournament play with a 3-0 win over Brescia College. Goals were scored by Anna Hoone, Jessica Engle and Bethany Kershner. According to junior Moe Kluesner, it "was an awesome victory." Coach Cary Tsamas considers the win over Bresicia as the best game of the season. The following game proved to be a struggle for the team with a 0-7 loss to Bethel College, leaving the Lady Mounties in second place in the KIAC tournament. This is only the second time in school history that the ladies have placed second in the tournament.
The season, however, did not start out on a high note. In the first hour of the first game, the team had a player tear the ACL in her knee. The team then discovered two players were ineligible for various reasons and the starting goalie from last year decided to take the season off. "The girls worked hard despite the obstacles and proved their resiliency once again," said Coach Tsamas of his players. "This is very positive and encouraging for the upcoming season."
Despite the shortcomings, the season proved to be monumental for five Lady Mounties. Patrice Reisenberg, Moe Kluesner, and Lacie Bostik were named to the first team in the All KIAC Conference team and Anna Hoone and Jessica Engle were named to the second team. These girls were voted to these teams by other coaches in the conference.
