| BC Flat in Pepsi Tournament
Berea hosted the Pepsi/Sodexho Invitational Tournament on Friday, November 11 and Saturday, November 12, welcoming traditional powerhouse teams to Seabury Center.
Berea fell to King College in Saturday's consolation game.
Friday saw King College face powerhouse Georgetown College in the first round of the small tournament. Georgetown won the first round with a score of 68 - 51, placing them in Saturday's championship game. Following that game, Berea battled Reinhardt College and fell with a score of 79 - 100, putting them against King College in the consolation game.
On the final day of tourney action, Berea played the King College Tornado. As in the previous game, Junior center Thomas Klimas did not play due to an ankle injury. By halftime, Berea College was ahead with a score of 27 - 21. The second half saw a dramatic change in pace for both teams. The Tornado rallied with a series of steals and three point shots, putting them a mere one point behind the Mountaineers. With only a minute to go, King took the lead by a point. The final 20 seconds of the game were a myriad of intense, fast paced shots. With one second left, the score was tied, 62 all. After a disappointing overtime, with the Mountaineers never regaining their lead, the final score came to 68-75, in favor of the Tornado. The Mountaineers are now 1-2 this season.
Just as exciting was the championship game of Reinhardt against Georgetown. The final score came to 68 - 94, leaving Georgetown as the Pepsi/Sodexho Invitational Champions for the 2005-2006 season.
