Mountaineers Fall to Undefeated Patriots

The Mountaineers turned it over, then turned it over some more in route to a twenty point loss.

BC fell to Cumberland College, 68-88

Despite balanced scoring with four Mountaineers in double figures, Berea College fell to the undefeated Patriots of the University of the Cumberlands, 88-68.

Junior Guard Melvin Brown, who leads the team in scoring (14.1 points/game) and assists (3.5/game), tossed in 15 points, while senior forward Chris McIntyre, sophomore guard Jordan Samuels, and sophomore guard Adam Kirby each scored in double figures. Kirby, who came into this game averaging just four points, did not miss a shot all game as he scored 11 points.

Free throw shooting continues to plague the Mountaineers who are shooting just 60% from the line. Down by nine at the start of the second half, the Mountaineers managed to connect on just nine of 16 free throws the rest of the game.

The BC Mountaineers are now 3-5 this season.

Berea next plays an away game at Pikeville on Dec. 10. They return for a home game against Ohio Southern on Dec. 16.
