| BC Celebrates Christmas in Song
Union Church was packed with young and old alike ready to bring in the holiday season with carols and hymns performed by BC's many music ensembles on December 4.
BC's music department was well represented at the Celebration of Christmas Concert at Union Church.
People began arriving early to find seats as the Brass Choir and Organist played several arrangements of traditional Carols to welcome people to an evening of song and good cheer.
After a warm welcome and prayer by Reverend Kent Gilbert, Pastor of Union Church, The music was underway. The concert started with "O Come, All Ye Faithful", sung by the audience as well as the musical groups present. Additional performances were given by the BC Recorder Ensemble; Women's Chorus; Saxophone Quartet; Concert Choir; Faculty Soloists Monica Gale Heard and Ann Rhodes; the Brass Quintet; Wind Ensemble and the BC Chamber Singers. These performances were followed by a reading of Luke 2: 1-20, The Christmas Story, by Dr. Michelle Tooley.
Following the scripture, the audience was treated with songs by the BC Faculty-Staff Choir; Jazz Ensemble featuring Rebecca Ogburn as a vocalist; the Bluegrass Ensemble; Black Music Ensemble and a group performance given by BME, Concert Choir and Women's Chorus.
Following the performance, refreshments were served at the Christmas Reception in Fellowship Hall by the Campus Christian Center which sponsored the event.
