Student Craft Program Receives Award

The Berea College Student Craft program was awarded the Kentucky Crafted Emeritus Award on February 29 by the Kentucky Craft Marketing Program. The award was presented at the “Kentucky Crafted: The Market” fair in Louisville. Kentucky Secretary of Commerce, Jim Host, presented the award to Peggy Burgio, coordinator of the student craft program, and Terry Fields, productions manager.

Berea received the award in recognition of the program’s long-term dedication to craft development and its exemplary level of accomplishment. The craft program was also listed as a lifetime honorary jury participant for events.
“They felt that we deserved this wonderful honor,” said Burgio, “It’s really very special for us in the crafts program and for Berea College.”
