The Annual Cosmopolitan Cultural Show was held on March 13 at 7 p.m. in Phelps Stokes Chapel.

Cosmopolitan Club Cultural Show

The theme of the show, "Building Peaceful Communities–One Piece at a Time" was emphasized through musical and dance performances that displayed cultural diversity.

Joseph Owusu-Ansah, the vice-president of the Cosmopolitan Club acknowledged the students’ efforts to produce the show. "Thanks to those students who took time out of their busy schedules to practice and prepare for the show,” says Owusu-Ansah. “They gathered together and practiced for hours to present an incredibly meaningful and enjoyable show for the audience.”

Participants at the show hailed from all parts of the world, and presented their national outfits in the fashion show and sang songs in their native tongue or performed traditional dances.

Countries represented in the show included Tibet, Nepal, Poland, Vietnam, Malaysia, Dominican Republic, Kenya, Zimbabwe, USA, Uganda, Myanmar, Poland, Uzbekistan, Bhutan, Ukraine, Sierra Leone, Swaziland, Ecuador, Peru, Ghana, Nigeria, Cambodia, Liberia, and Sri Lanka.

In addition, Berea students who studied in Ghana for short term presented traditional Ghana dance while the Afro-Latin Drumming Ensemble played the beats.
