BC Is a ''Great Deal'' Says ABC's ''The View''

During the August 18 broadcast of "The View," Berea College was named one of five "Great Deal" schools.

"The View" highlighted Berea while revealing the results of a coast-to-coast college survey designed to help students choose a school.
This broadcast came on the same day that the U.S.News & World Report's annual guide to "America's Best Colleges" named Berea as the best comprehensive college for a bachelor's degree in the south for 2007.
"The View" also named the University of California- Berkeley, the University of Virginia, the University of Texas at Austin, and Spelman College as "Great Deals."

According to their Web site, "The View," recipient of the 2003 Daytime Emmy® Award for "Outstanding Talk Show," is ABC Daytime's morning chatfest, featuring a team of dynamic women of different ages, experiences and backgrounds discussing the most exciting events of the day. The program has received critical acclaim since premiering August 11, 1997. It's broadcast live Monday through Friday from NYC (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon).
"The View" is produced by and currently features ABC News correspondent Barbara Walters, comedian Joy Behar and former "Survivor: The Australian Outback" participant Elisabeth Hasselbeck. This September, entertainer Rosie O'Donnell, a six time Daytime Emmy Award-winner, joins "The View" as moderator. The show consists of hot topics in the news, the best experts in their field, celebrity interviews and general entertainment. The program celebrated its 2000th show on February 2, 2006, and begins season 10 on September 5, 2006.
