A substantial portion of the grant money will support the development of a new program, Faculty Fellowships in Service-Learning, beginning this semester. The purpose of the fellowships is to provide faculty with an opportunity to learn about service-learning, and to support faculty in developing a course that includes a service-learning component. The faculty members will receive a $1,000 stipend for participating and will teach the courses they develop within the academic year following the fellowship.
Six professors will be chosen each semester to participate as faculty fellows. CELTS will be offering Faculty Fellowships in Service-Learning again during the Fall 2004 term.
