Crystal Wilkinson, author of “Blackberries, Blackberries” and “Water Street” will be a writer-in residence from April 5 until April 30, 2004.

Wilkinson will speak to various groups, visit classes, and teach in the women studies department.
In addition, on Wednesday nights, she will offer a non-credit writing workshop from April 14 until April 28, 2004, that will take place from 6 until 8 p.m.
Wilkinson is a Kentucky native who grew up in Casey County, and her literary work centers on themes of the Afrilachian experience. Wilkinson Wilkinson’s month long experience in Berea is a part of an ACA event. The event includes Wilkinson teaching at Lindsey Wilson during February and Cumberland College during March.
Boone Tavern will host a celebration on May 1, 2004, to highlight Wilkinson's work on college campuses during this semester long event.
