Linda Strong-Leek Receives Distinguished Faculty Award

Linda Strong-Leek was honored on Saturday, February 21st, 2004 at the 8th annual Unity Banquet. She received the Distinguished Faculty Member Award, which is selected by the staff members at the Black Cultural Center.

This award is given to new faculty who contribute their time and efforts beyond their department or classroom.
Linda Strong-Leek is the assistant professor in the women’s studies department. She earned a Ph.D. in African-American history, literature, and African literature, a B.A. and an M.A. in African-American history. She came to Berea College two years ago and lives here with her husband and two daughters.
“It just feels good to know that the students appreciate me for what I am doing," says Linda. "It is always good to know that the work that you do makes a difference to someone.”
