Berea College and Midway College (Ky.) broke the NAIA-II record for most points (both teams) when Berea outscored Midway 120-111 in overtime on January 11. The 231 points shatters the record of 230 that Berea (117) and Wilberforce (113) posted on November 14, 2004.

Berea led throughout the entire regulation but could not shake a determined Midway squad, which was playing at home after a four-week layoff. With Berea ahead 101-98, Midway freshman guard Katie Peterson (Cave City, Ky.) nailed a three-pointer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime. After the teams traded baskets for the first three minutes of overtime, Berea surged ahead to stay.
Midway junior forward Ashley Parker (Midway, Fla.) led all scorers with 27 points and added 17 rebounds. Midway junior guard Danielle Lascoe (Louisville, Ky.) contributed 26 points. Senior guard De-An Watkins (Athens, Ala.) poured in 20 points to lead six Berea scorers in double figures.
17th-ranked Berea (14-4) has averaged 98 points in its 18 games. Midway's record is now 7-10.
