Minor in Physics

A Physics minor provides a solid foundation in physics to non-physics majors who may wish to apply the analytical skills and principles of physics to their own field of study. The Physics minor may be of interest to students wishing to enhance their understanding of physical phenomena, and may be particularly useful for majors such as Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Mathematics.

Requirements for the Minor

The minor in Physics requires a minimum of six (6) course credits, as follows:

Required Core Courses

PHY 315, PHY 316 and PHY 320 (PHY 217/218 can be substituted for PHY 315/316 with permission of the Program Coordinator.)

Required Distribution Courses

Three (3) additional PHY course credits chosen from the following: PHY 225, 330, 335, 365, 386, 460, 481, 482, 485, and 486
