Biography

Esther Livingston joined Berea College in August 2011 as Co-Director of the Center for Transformative Learning and the new full-time Director of Internships. She meets with students individually, and conducts class presentations and workshops, to assist in finding/creating internship opportunities and learn about the process for receiving credit and funding.

She has spent the last eleven years in the field of Experiential Education and Career Services at the University of Kentucky.  As Interim Director and Assistant Director of the James W. Stuckert Career Center, Esther coordinated the Internship, Shadowing, and Service-Learning programs, in addition to conducting one-on-one career consultations with students, and doing class presentations and workshops.  She worked closely with faculty campus-wide, and with a wide range of employers.

Her background also includes the role of a Career Development Specialist in UK Human Resources, coaching employees in their own career management, and an Adjunct Faculty position in Information Management and Design at Bluegrass Community and Technical College.
